The miniature pinscher is a small compact dog, with a beautiful gate and a proud stance. The min pin looks a lot like a miniature Doberman, but it is actually not! The Min Pin originated in Germany and has been said to be a mix between a German pinscher and another small breed of dog or terrier. They range in size between 10-12.5 inches. However, they can be larger in size do to bad breeding of dogs. They also come in several colors: black and tan, black and rust, chocolate and tan, red, stag red, and blue. Min Pin's usually live long and healthy lives...to be about 15 years old!
Min Pins are said to be the "King of Toys". Not only are they beautiful dogs, they have huge personalities. Min Pins are showoffs, love attention, and will protect you with their life. They are also referred to as "Tiny Tyrants."
The Min Pin is a proud dog, with a temperament to match. Even for their small size, they will happily challenge you to a full wrestling match! They are usually playful well into their years. However, the min pin is a dog that should not be spoiled! They should be raised right, with a good sense of right or wrong. With proper training and raising, the min pin can be an excellent obedience and agility dog.
Min Pins are usually not a good dog for small children, as they like to play rough. Min pins are also talkers, so if you are looking for a quiet dog, they are not for you. They are, however, very good dogs for small houses or apartments. They can get enough exercise in small areas. They also shed very little and require very small amounts of grooming.
Please only buy a puppy from a good breeder, not from pet stores or puppy mills. The puppies that come from these places usually have come from bad conditions, and could have bad breeding. Also, please spay or neuter your new puppy. Don't breed a dog that will not pass on good traits to his or her puppies. Not spaying or neutering your dog can put them at risk for cancers and other health problems.
